Wanda Lemons, a 37-year-old mother of five, was last seen on November 3, 2014. She has family in both Ohio and Texas, and has been known to travel between states. Wanda is 5-foot-7-inches with blue eyes and brown hair and remains missing to this day.
Born in Texas, Wanda was the baby sister with two older brothers who taught her to ride bikes and swim. The family grew up on a farm, and when Wanda wasn’t doing chores, she was often reading and writing. But, her childhood wasn’t perfect and Wanda’s mother, Diana, moved to Chillicothe. Afterwards, Wanda got pregnant with her first child.
In the years following, Wanda married and had two more children, but the marriage didn’t last. In her late 20s, Wanda was in a bad accident and began abusing pain pills. Her life fell apart; she lost her home.
Finally, Wanda fled Texas and joined her mother in Chillicothe, where she found a job and remained clean for eight years. She started writing and became immersed in church life.
When Diana spoke to Wanda on October 2, 2014, everything seemed to be on track – but then Wanda went silent.
It wasn’t unusual for the two to go without contact for periods of time, but when Christmas came and went with no sign of Wanda, Diane knew something was wrong. She reported Wanda missing on December 29, 2014. Police investigated a tip from a friend who saw Wanda on November 3rd. Wanda mentioned hitching a ride to Texas with a truck driver over Christmas. The driver was never found and searches between Ohio and Texas have yielded nothing. Wanda’s bank account has not been touched since her disappearance and she remains missing to this day.
